About US
Basel Tamil Sangam(BTS) is a registered non-profit association based in Basel, Switzerland, founded under Articles 60–79 of the Swiss Civil Code.
We are a vibrant community organization dedicated to foster cultural unity, learning, and support within the Tamil community, while encouraging integration into Swiss society.
BTS connects families, students, and professionals through art, education, and social engagement. The association remains politically and religiously neutral, welcoming everyone who shares its vision of cultural preservation and community development.
Our Mission
Preserve and Promote Tamil Culture:
Organize cultural events, traditional celebrations, and Tamil language learning programs to sustain our heritage across generations.
Empower Through Education and Support:
Guide Tamil students, newcomers, and job seekers in their academic and professional journeys through mentoring, networking, and workshops.
Foster Community Well-being:
Promote sports, wellness, and recreational activities that encourage health and social connection.
Encourage Integration:
Support our members in understanding and adapting to Swiss social, cultural, and legal systems.
Serve with Compassion:
Provide help through community programs, fundraising for charitable causes, and maintaining an emergency contact and support line for those in need.
